Scrappy’s Bitters was founded by Seattle bartender Miles Thomas with a simple idea: bitters could be better. Dissatisfied with legacy brands that prioritized efficiency over flavor, Miles took the opposite approach. He immersed himself in research and development; experimenting with herbs and spices, testing different extraction methods, and studying the science of flavor pairing to achieve the depth and balance he desired. After many years, and countless test batches, his journey proved fruitful when Scrappy’s Bitters launched its first commercial release in 2008 to an eager audience of bartenders and cocktail enthusiasts.

More than a decade later, the same commitment that drove this pursuit remains unchanged: to make the best bitters in the world, crafted with intention and uncompromising quality. From those early beginnings, Scrappy’s has grown into a category leader and global supplier for the world’s best bars. Despite this scale, a small, dedicated team still produces every bottle by hand in Seattle, Washington.
